Project Objectives |
- Achieve auditable on-ground adoption of sustainable production practices within individual fishing businesses in Moreton Bay;
- Improve operator awareness of the benefits of achieving improved NRM outcomes - a more sustainable and resilient fishery, as well as a more profitable business;
- Encourage sharing of innovative ideas and techniques between fishermen across the region which address sustainability and profitability issues;
- Communicate outcomes with other community groups, so that (in the long-term) whole-of-community targets can be measured such as improvements in water quality, energy efficiency, bycatch reduction and minimization of impact of trawling on the sea bottom.
- To foster EMS development in other fisheries and regions, and other land-based primary industries across the State through sharing of information
